Zaru Valley: A Hidden Gem in Jiuzhaigou

Zaru Valley is the fourth valley of Jiuzhaigou. It boasts enchanting mountain scenery and crystal-clear streams; the forest is covered with lichens, and old man’s beard sways with the wind. The distant mountains, nearby trees, and clusters of flowers create a picturesque landscape. Wildlife occasionally appears in the forest, revealing the pristine beauty of nature. The ecological environment within the valley is minimally impacted by human activities, and the Tibetan folk culture and lifestyle maintain their original simplicity.

In Zaru Valley, visitors can not only enjoy the scenic beauty of mountains and waters but also experience the unique charm of the mysterious Bon religion. The valley is home to the revered ‘Ancestor of All Mountains’, Zai Za Ga, and is rich in flora and fauna, including rare species such as the Chinese yew, dawn redwood, giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, forest musk deer, and blue sheep, making it a treasure trove of biodiversity and Tibetan cultural experiences.

Major attractions within the valley include Baojing Cliff, Zaru Bridge, Zaru Forest Path, Zaru Horse Path, Zaru Temple, Zaru Waterfall, Zai Za Ga Divine Mountain, Red Pond, Dalian Lake, and Black Sea. The valley is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific operating conditions subject to daily availability.
