Yong’an Bridge is located in Yong’an Village, Masanjiazi Township, Yuhong District, Shenyang City. It is commonly known as the Great Stone Bridge.
Yong’an Bridge was first built in the sixth year of Chongde in the Qing Dynasty (1641). It was the only way for the emperors of each generation of the Qing Dynasty to travel eastward. It is also a relatively complete stone arch bridge existing in Shenyang City and is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit.
Yong’an Bridge is a three-hole stone arch bridge, with a total length of 37 meters, an outer width of 14.5 meters, a road surface width of 8.9 meters, and a bridgehead width of 12 meters.
There are nineteen stone railings standing on each side of the bridge body. The stone pillars at the bridge ends are carved with lions in round relief, and the others have lotus leaf-shaped capitals.
There is a pair of exquisitely carved large stone lions looking at each other on both sides of the bridgehead, one male and one female.
The balustrades of the bridge are decorated with persimmon pedicel patterns and curly cloud patterns. The drum stones outside the end columns are engraved with patterns of deer, tigers, unicorns, rhinoceroses, sheep, butterflies, etc.
On the north side of the bridge body, there are two dragons stretching out their heads, and on the south side of the bridge body, a pair of dragon tails are exposed. From a distance, it looks like two dragons carrying the bridge, with a vivid shape and unique ingenuity.
