Xue Tao Well Introduction

There is a stele standing beside the well, inscribed with the three characters “Xue Tao Well”. These are the handwriting of Yi Yingxiong, the magistrate of Chengdu during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty.
In her later years, Xue Tao made a kind of small deep-red writing paper at Bijifang, her residence. It was colorful and delicate, and was known as “Xue Tao Jian” in the world. It has been imitated in successive dynasties.

In fact, this well was the well where the king of Shu in the Ming Dynasty fetched water to imitate Xue Tao Jian.
