Xiaotong Alley is one of the many alleys in Chengdu that embody the “slow life”. They are the silhouettes of Chengdu’s leisurely and gentle temperament.
Before 2008, Xiaotong Alley was only half an alley. It was later connected to Zhazi Street during the sewage renovation in Chengdu. At that time, it was relatively quieter and was just an ordinary alley.
When Kuanzhai Alleys underwent a magnificent transformation, young people began to expand outwards. Xiaotong Alley, which is not far from Kuan Alley and relatively quiet, gradually became their target.
Rows of gray old-fashioned buildings form the important background color of this street. However, upon closer inspection, one can find that on the first floor facing the street, charming and distinctive cafes and water bars are blooming like flowers among dry goods stores and hardware shops, and they are becoming more and more prosperous.
Because of these highly individualized small shops, Xiaotong Alley, a less-than-200-meter-long alley, although hidden behind the prosperity of Kuan Alley, has gradually become a good place for young people to taste tea and talk about life.
