The Wuliangye Cultural and Sports Center, located in Jinniu District of Chengdu, was completed in March 2021 and is a key project in Chengdu’s ’14th Five-Year Plan’ for building a world-renowned sports city. It is also one of the core venues for the 31st Summer Universiade and the home field for the Chengdu Rongcheng team of the Chinese Super League. The project covers an area of approximately 600 acres and is built with high-level craftsmanship and facilities, mainly consisting of ‘one stadium, two arenas, and one center’, which are a FIFA-standard professional football field, an FIBA/NBA/NHL-standard multi-purpose arena, a multi-function hall, and a comprehensive fitness center.
The project is equipped with professional function rooms such as player lounges, dressing rooms, and press conference halls, as well as distinctive guest areas like VIP boxes. It also features supporting facilities such as squares, commercial areas, hotels, and residential areas, providing citizens with one-stop services. The multi-purpose arena serves as the final venue for the basketball event of the 31st Summer Universiade, built to FIBA, NBA, and NHL standards, with a construction area of about 143,000 square meters and a total seating capacity of 18,000.
