The Tieling Museum houses over 5000 pieces of cultural relics, primarily unearthed from the Liaobei region, including many rare treasures. Notable examples include the bronze axes from the Shang and Zhou dynasties; the intricately carved bronze plaques from the Western Han dynasty; and the epitaph from the late Liao Dynasty of Xiao Yi, a prime minister of the Northern Prefecture.
The museum features two permanent thematic exhibitions: ‘Liaobei Historical Cultural Relics Display’ and ‘Tieling Local Chronicles Exhibition’. The ‘Liaobei Historical Cultural Relics Display’ traces the historical development of the Liaobei region and showcases the social production and living conditions of the area over the past ten thousand years, authentically reflecting the civilization achievements created by the people of Liaobei in various historical periods. The ‘Tieling Local Chronicles Exhibition’ employs representative specimens, finished products, models, images, and data to comprehensively and summarily display the natural environment, material resources, cultural landscapes, historical celebrities, and the current state of social and material civilization development in Tieling City.
