The former official residence of the British Consulate in Xiamen, located at No. 5, Zhangzhou Road, Gulangyu, Xiamen, is a beautiful courtyard hidden among green trees. Today, it has become an exhibition hall of Xiamen Jinquan Coin Museum.
The former British Consulate building on Gulangyu is a three-story red-brick building. The corners of the building feature a combination of bricks and stones, with a square and rigorous structure. The French windows are equipped with shutters to adjust sunlight, block sand and wind, and there are also fireplaces for decoration.
