Tazishan Park – A Scenic Spot in Chengdu

Tazishan Park is located in the eastern part of Chengdu city, beneath the Shuangqiaozi overpass, on the eastern section of Shuanggui Road. Covering an area of 410 acres, the park features gentle hills, vast terrain, lush greenery, and a tranquil environment. It includes scenic spots such as the Winter Sweet Garden, Begonia Garden, and Crape Myrtle Garden, as well as a newly constructed miniature Sichuan ancient relics garden and the iconic landmark of Chengdu, the Jiutian Tower. Tazishan Park is also the main venue for the annual Chengdu Lantern Festival.

The park is densely planted with over 80 species of trees, including cedar, ginkgo, camphor, crape myrtle, and metasequoia. The forest is interspersed with lawns, lakes, pavilions, and paths, offering a wilderness experience akin to a mountain forest, making it an ideal place for local residents to visit and relax. The Bird Language Forest within the park gathers nearly 150 varieties of birds from around the world, including terrestrial, wading, aquatic, singing, and raptors, totaling about 5,000 birds, with more than 20 species under national first and second-level protection. The Bird Language Forest focuses on bird science popularization, highlights bird performances, and is an excellent venue for primary and secondary school students to conduct spring and autumn outings.
