San Jin Si He Yuan is located in the central courtyard of Zhang’s Mansion, representing the traditional Chinese imitation of a princely residence.
During Zhang Zuolin’s governance, the first two courtyards of the Si He Yuan served as the official residence for office work, while the third courtyard was designated as the private residence for family members, inheriting the ancient architectural style of imperial palaces with a separation between the front court and the rear sleeping quarters.
