Phoenix Lake Ecological Museum: A Glimpse into Qingbaijiang’s History

The museum is situated on the side of the pastoral square in the Phoenix Lake Ecological Wetland Tourism Resort Area, with a construction area of 5,417 square meters and an exhibition area of 3,800 square meters. It primarily showcases the historical culture of Qingbaijiang, combining both historical exhibitions and scene-based displays. The artifacts span from the Baodun Culture period 4,500 years ago to the early 20th century.


Arranged chronologically, the exhibition is divided into four sections: ‘Dawn’s First Light’, ‘Splendid Chapters’, ‘Prime of Life’, and ‘Old City Shadows’, displaying over 600 exquisite local artifacts such as Eastern Han Dynasty bronze horses, tiger and bear dragon phoenix seats, turtle and frog dougong seats, money trees, and tri-color figurines. Opening hours: The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; it is open from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday.


Essential visitor tips:


1. Entry is denied to those who are improperly dressed, and those who bring pets.


2. Children and elderly with mobility issues must be accompanied by friends or family.


3. Do not bring food and drinks into the exhibition hall.


4. Smoking, littering, spitting, and using flash photography are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition hall.


5. Loud talking, running, climbing, and lying down are not allowed in the exhibition hall.


6. Please do not touch the exposed exhibits or press on the glass display cases to avoid damage to the artifacts and injury to oneself.


7. In case of any emergencies, please follow the staff’s instructions and exit in an orderly manner.
