Pearl Shoal Waterfall is the largest travertine waterfall in Jiuzhaigou. Originating from the melted snow in the mountains, it cascades down from a height of 21 meters into the valley with a thunderous roar, creating thousands of splashing waves. The rapid water here appears white, making it the most powerful and loud among all the rapids in Jiuzhaigou. The plank road on the left side of the rapids offers an excellent vantage point for admiring the waterfall.
Located between Mirror Lake and Golden Bell Lake, the Pearl Shoal Waterfall has a refreshing atmosphere at its base, surrounded by lush forests. Walking along the plank road, accompanied by the rapids, one continues eastward to reach the eastern side of the Pearl Shoal. The water of the waterfall is high in sulfur content and is not suitable for drinking.
