The architectural design of the Mumu Art Museum (People’s Park Branch) was completed by Chief Architect Zheng Yong and his studio from the China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute. The designers stated: “The design of the art museum, as a key renovation project for the entire Ci Tang Street district, bears the responsibility of showcasing the district’s image and outputting artistic culture. Its starting point lies in achieving an equal dialogue between the art museum and the protected architecture.”
Mumu Art Museum (People’s Park Branch) marks the first step of Mumu Art Museum’s expansion from Beijing to the rest of China. Founder Lin Han expressed: “From Mumu Art Museum to Mumu Art Community, Chengdu is a solid first step in Mumu Art Museum’s ‘three cities, four museums’ strategic plan. Mumu Art Museum (People’s Park Branch) is not only a new museum in Chengdu but also a brand-new community integrating art, culture, and community. I hope that here, more dreams and aspirations of the people of Chengdu for art and culture can be accommodated.”
