Longhuitou Scenic Spot in Xingcheng, Liaoning

Longhuitou is located near the 313 Seaside in Xingcheng. From here, you can overlook the Longwan Seaside. It is nestled against the mountains and faces the sea. With beautiful and charming scenery, it is one of the important tourist attractions in Huludao.
There are two legends about Longhuitou. One is that it is said that when Emperor Qianlong came out for an outing and passed by here on his way back to Beijing, he couldn’t help but look back several times upon seeing the beautiful scenery. This is how Longhuitou got its name. The viewing platform of Longhuitou is close to the mountains and the sea. The sound of the pine forest is like the rolling waves. Below the steep cliff is a beautiful coastline. Looking out into the vast sea, you can also enjoy the urban scenery of the new area of Huludao.

The second legend is that it was said that sea monsters used to haunt the Bohai Bay. One day, a dragon came here to practice. Seeing the local people being bullied by the sea monsters, it used its magical power to get rid of the sea monsters. After getting rid of the sea monsters, its cultivation was complete. It was about to leave this land. This practicing dragon was a bit reluctant to part and kept looking back, thus forming the current Longhuitou Scenic Area.

Of course, legends are just legends. In fact, this is a naturally formed sea-viewing spot. Looking out at the boundless sea, you will see a peninsula-shaped island stretching into the sea. This is where Huludao really is.

When visiting Longhuitou Scenic Area on a cloudy day, the sea is surrounded by mist. On a sunny day, the blue sky and the blue sea reflect each other. Each scene has its own beauty.
