The Jiuzhaigou Tibetan-Qiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum covers an area of approximately 1300 square meters and houses around 500 artifacts. It is primarily divided into three sections: the Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors’ Workshop, and the Qiongqia Cultural and Creative Store.
The museum exhibition hall mainly showcases the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic cultures of the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, including Jiuzhaigou’s intangible cultural heritage, the Tibetan medical system, and the distinctive folk customs of the Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups.
The Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors’ Workshop dynamically displays Tibetan and Qiang ethnic intangible cultural heritage projects such as embroidery, Thangka painting, kesi (silk tapestry) craftsmanship, and Tibetan tea, providing an interactive platform for learning and exchanging knowledge and traditional culture through ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage + Research and Learning’. The Qiongqia Cultural and Creative Store promotes the economic development of local intangible cultural heritage by selling cultural and creative products and handicrafts featuring Tibetan and Qiang intangible cultural heritage elements in the form of ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage + Cultural and Creative Products’. The Jiuzhaigou Tibetan-Qiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum is an essential part of the inheritance and development of Sichuan’s intangible cultural heritage, combining the natural scenery of Jiuzhaigou with intangible cultural heritage to create another cultural landscape in Jiuzhaigou County. Open all year round from 09:00 to 21:00.
