Jiuyan Bridge: A Scenic Wonder in Chengdu

Jiuyan Bridge, true to its name, features nine arches and was originally known as Hongji Bridge, also referred to as Zhenjiang Bridge. While ancient people likened the grandeur of stone arch bridges to a ‘long rainbow lying on the waves’, Jiuyan Bridge is not a ‘long rainbow’ but rather a ‘bent bow’.
Near the south of the bridge, there used to be a Huilanta (commonly known as White Pagoda) built in the same period as the bridge, creating an intriguing scene where ‘the bridge is a bent bow and the tower is an arrow’.
Opening Hours: Open all year round, 24 hours a day.
