Originally constructed in 1959, the Old Pengbai train in Pengzhou is one of the few narrow-gauge trains in China that carried both freight and passengers. The narrow-gauge train journey spans from Tianpeng Town to Baishui River Station in Daba Town, covering a total distance of 39 kilometers with a travel time of 1 hour and 30 minutes, and an elevation drop of 500 meters. It traverses the picturesque farmlands of Western Sichuan and the lush greenery along the banks of the Jianjiang River, passing through famous scenic spots such as Danjing Mountain, Yangping Temple, Longmen Mountain Geopark, and Yinchang Gully, offering breathtaking views along the way.
In the spring of 2017, the Old Pengbai Railway train was reborn with the launch of the Jianjiang River Valley tourist train reconstruction project. On the original site, 3.2 kilometers of railway were restored, with two trains in operation. The first train, a vintage-style train, consists of three carriages (one luxury carriage and two nostalgic carriages), accommodating a total of 102 passengers. The second train, a fairy tale-style train, also has three carriages (one pink strawberry carriage, one yellow cartoon animal carriage, and one blue ocean carriage), capable of seating 145 passengers. Both trains are exquisitely decorated, offering different themes and experiences to visitors, making you fall in love with the journey instantly.

During the 3.2-kilometer journey, you can admire attractions such as the Old Guankou Station, Zhen Guo Temple White Pagoda, Foshan Ancient Temple, and Wen Weng Temple, passing through the 465-meter-long Yaoziyan Tunnel, leading directly to the entrance of Danjing Mountain Scenic Area.
