Fenghuang Mountain is located about 6 kilometers north of Chengdu. It is a hill with a unique shape, running from north to south. It consists of two hilltops that seem to look after each other. Seen from afar, it resembles a phoenix spreading its wings to welcome spring and looking into the distance, thus getting its name. It is said that the original name of this mountain was Shihu Mountain. At the foot of the mountain, the Dongfeng Canal and the Fenghuang River wind around it. On the mountain, ponds are scattered like chess pieces and ditches crisscross.
Fenghuang Mountain is a hilly area relatively close to the inner city of Chengdu. According to the overall plan of the city, a new Fenghuang City with a total area of 10 square kilometers will be built here and will serve as an important part of the planned North New City.
