Huazang Temple on Emei Mountain

Huazang Temple is the highest temple on Emei Mountain and is located in the center of the Golden Summit. The architecture of the temple uses a large amount of copper. Under the sunlight, it emits a dazzling light. The temple is built along the mountain terrain. At the highest point is the Samantabhadra Hall, also known as the Golden Hall or the Golden Summit. Thus, the peak where it sits is also called the “Golden Summit”. Huazang Temple was first built in the Eastern Han Dynasty. However, the current temple was rebuilt in recent years. Today, the temple still has strong religious activities and attracts many believers to come and offer incense. In front of Huazang Temple is the four-sided and ten-direction Samantabhadra statue. It is open from 8:30 – 17:00 throughout the year.
