Huaxia Alpine Botanical Garden

The Huaxia Alpine Botanical Garden is located in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province, and was established in 1988 as a collaborative effort between the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the People’s Government of Dujiangyan City (formerly Guan County).
The primary objectives of the Huaxia Garden are the collection, preservation, and study of Rhododendron species from the Hengduan Mountains and Eastern Himalayas, rare and endangered plants, as well as medicinal and ornamental plants, while also considering other important groups with scientific significance and economic value.

After more than two decades of construction and development, the Huaxia Garden has introduced a large number of wild Rhododendron species and quantities, preserving more than 2000 live plant species, and has preliminarily established a Rhododendron specialty garden with a large scale in Asia and a significant number of wild Rhododendron original species.

The garden is open all year round, with full-day access.
