First Mountain Pavilion: The Gateway to Emei Mountain

The First Mountain Pavilion is located at the foot of Emei Mountain, marking the starting point for hikers and one of the landmarks of the scenic area. Many tourists enjoy taking photos here as a memento.
The pavilion is a copper structure in China, shining brilliantly under the sunlight. The pavilion features four plaques inscribed with ‘First Mountain,’ ‘Emei Mountain,’ ‘Great Bright Mountain,’ and ‘Imperial Man’s Mountain,’ signifying the prominent position of Emei Mountain among China’s famous mountains and in Taoism.

A symbol made entirely of copper stands in the center of the pavilion, which is divided into three levels: a crystal gem, a lotus, and a base. The gem is made of crystal containing copper-cast symbols for ‘World Heritage’ and ‘Scenic and Historic Interest Area,’ while the lotus and base are both made of copper.

The pavilion is open all year round, available 24/7.
