Comprehensive Aviation Science Popularization and Interactive Experience Camp in Sichuan

The corporate exhibition hall of COMAC Sichuan Company collaborates with Wright Brothers Operations, with Wright Brothers handling the design, construction, and operation of the exhibition hall. Together, they create a comprehensive aviation science popularization and interactive experience camp—Large Aircraft (Sichuan) Research and Study Camp. Located at No.1 Guangmu Road, Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, within the COMAC Large Aircraft Demonstration Industrial Park, it serves as a window to showcase COMAC’s corporate culture in Sichuan, a platform to promote domestically produced large aircraft, and a venue to advance aviation science popularization and interactive experiences.
p1. Corporate Exhibition Hall: Introduction to COMAC, corporate culture, and sand table: COMAC was established on May 11, 2008, consisting of one headquarters base and six operational centers. Each center’s functions and business scope cover research, design, assembly, test flight, and sales operations. The dynamic sand table of COMAC accurately scales down the entirety of COMAC. Children can intuitively feel the atmosphere of COMAC in the sand table area, explore the functions of each center, and learn about COMAC’s spirit of perseverance and never giving up through explanations.

p2. Aviation Science Popularization Area: This area is primarily used for explaining aviation science knowledge to young children. It covers the basic information and meanings of ARJ21, CR929, and C919 models. We aim to cultivate interest and knowledge in aviation for children through the creation of aviation culture.

p3. Aviation Science Interactive Experience Area: This area features seven major operation platforms independently developed by Wright Brothers. Children can personally touch and explore everything related to aircraft, making all dry and difficult-to-understand knowledge, such as engine thrust reverser knowledge, aircraft lighting knowledge, and flight attitude knowledge, clear and understandable. During the process of model aircraft manipulation, children can not only learn knowledge but also exercise their hand-eye-brain coordination, adaptability, and independent thinking skills.

p4. Flight Experience Area: The flight experience area focuses on flight simulation, with two C919 simulator cockpits and professional flight instructors. It challenges over ten thousand airports worldwide, dozens of different weather conditions, and more than ten flight route scenarios. All participants can feel the charm of aircraft and enjoy the flight driving experience here.

p5. Simulation Tower Area: This area is equipped with professional-level (Category 2 C) air traffic control training equipment and has reached an in-depth data docking and integration stage with our simulator trainer, jointly developing the ‘Air-Ground Three-Dimensional Linkage Integrated Simulation System’. The main training content involves large-capacity flight scheduling, control and takeover of aircraft in flight, and simulation of flight emergencies.
Training children’s reaction and resilience through a combination of theory and practice.

On page 6, the Aviation Science Teaching Area’s joystick simulation flight classroom is equipped with joystick devices specifically for the ‘National Youth Simulation Flight Championship’. Learning joystick simulation flight allows children to adapt to the three-dimensional environment of flying, which differs from their everyday activities in terms of manipulation and thinking.

In the model aircraft classroom, children can assemble and piece together various model aircraft with their own hands, learning about the structure of aircraft while exercising their hands-on skills.

The venue’s courses are educational and entertaining, adopting the STEAM education system, tailored to children from five aspects: Science (flight science), Technology (flight technology), Engineering (flight engineering), Art, and Mathematics. This helps children build their knowledge system and enhance their comprehensive abilities.
