Chongzhou Tianyan Museum Introduction

Chongzhou Tianyan Museum is located on Jinji Road, Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province. It is a natural museum that showcases paleontological fossils and modern biological specimens and focuses on earth science popularization.
The basic exhibition of the museum takes the biological evolution as the main line. The collections span 500 million years. Sinoceras of the Ordovician period, ammonites of the Silurian period, fish of the Devonian period, petrified wood of the Carboniferous period, crinoids of the Permian period, ichthyosaurs of the Triassic period, dinosaurs of the Jurassic period, vertebrates of the Cretaceous period, as well as mammalian fossils of the Neogene and Quaternary periods, etc., constitute a panoramic view of the development of life on Earth.


Opening hours: It is open from 09:00 – 17:00, Tuesday – Sunday throughout the year. It is closed all day on Monday throughout the year. It is open from 09:00 – 17:00 on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day.

Children: Free for those under 1.2 meters (excluding).


Seniors: Free for those over 70 years old (excluding).


Disabled: Free with relevant certificates.


Military personnel: Free with relevant certificates.


Supplementary note: Children and seniors need to be accompanied by relatives or friends with tickets or badges.
