Chengdu Temple: A Historical Landmark in Sichuan

Chengdu Temple is located in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. The temple is named after its proximity to the remains of a historical royal palace in the area. It suffered severe damage during a war in 1917, and although it was rebuilt shortly after, its scale was significantly reduced due to financial constraints. Originally covering an area of over 6600 square meters, it was later reduced to over 5000 square meters. Despite this reduction, the temple remains one of the larger ones in Sichuan Province. The existing structures include a screen wall, main gate, second gate, horizontal corridor, bathing room, scripture repository, and prayer hall. The temple is open all year round from 9:00 to 23:00.
