Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum – A Hidden Gem

The Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum, also known as Shujiang Jin Yuan, is located at the former site of the Chengdu Shu Mian Factory, which has a history of over 50 years. This museum is one of the few places in China that preserves the complete manual craftsmanship of Shu brocade. The museum is divided into two parts: the Shu Embroidery Hall and the Shu Brocade Hall, in addition to the Shu Brocade Weaving Workshop.
Despite being an off-the-beaten-path attraction, even many locals are unaware of this gem. The museum spans two floors, showcasing exquisite Shu brocade and embroidery that are not only on display but also available for purchase.

The second floor hosts the Shu Embroidery Hall, where visitors can witness live embroidery demonstrations. For those interested, there are opportunities to sign up and learn the art of embroidery. The museum is open year-round from 09:00 to 17:30.
