In May 2022, the Chengdu High-Tech branch of the Encounter Museum officially opened its doors. Located within the Tianfu Software Park in Chengdu, the museum is situated close to the city’s central axis, Tianfu Avenue. This marks the third physical venue to open under the Encounter Museum brand, with a total exhibition area of nearly 3000 square meters. The main exhibition hall is divided into two levels, with an exhibition space of approximately 2000 square meters.
The museum is equipped with a lecture hall, multifunctional screening rooms, VIP rooms, and a cultural and creative derivative store, among other supporting facilities and equipment. With the grand opening, the exhibition ‘Encountering Ukiyo-e, Dreaming of Edo: The Schools and Artists of Japanese Ukiyo-e Prints’ was also officially inaugurated, allowing visitors to experience the Edo period. Opening hours are from January 1st to January 20th, Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00; January 21st is closed; from January 22nd to December 31st, Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00. During New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day, the museum is open from 10:00-18:00. Service facilities include mobile power bank rental in the lobby, luggage storage, professional guides, stroller rental, and a souvenir shop located at the museum’s exit where visitors can purchase gifts and related cultural and creative products.
