Hulu Ancient Town started construction in 2001. It is now a National Cultural Industry Demonstration Base, a National AAAA-level Tourist Scenic Area, a National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site, one of the few tourist destinations with folk culture characteristics in China, a Chinese Research and Study Travel Destination, a Provincial-level Tourist Resort in Liaoning Province, and one of the Top Ten Tourist Scenic Areas in Liaoning Province.
Centered around the Guandong folk culture and Chinese hulu culture, Hulu Ancient Town integrates cultural tourism, leisure vacation, ecological agriculture, traditional cultural education, youth education, and patriotic education. It is divided into four major themed reception areas, namely the Guandong Republic of China Town, Hulu Culture Park, Years Hulu Bay, and Farming Culture Experience Park. In winter, the Guandong Folk Snow Village is also in operation.
Guandong Farming Garden is a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After 20 years of arduous struggle, Hulu Ancient Town has been built from a desolate mountain, gully, hill and beach into a well-known domestic cultural and tourist area famous for “Old Guandong in the Republic of China and Huludao City on the Sea”.
