Longtan Grand Canyon is located in Laodazhangzi Township, Jianchang County, Huludao City, and a small part of it is within Qinglong territory. According to ancient legend, there were two dragon gods living in the deep pool of this canyon. Whenever there was a drought and no rain, the common people would come to this pool to kneel and pray for rain. The dragon gods were very considerate of the people. Whenever the people prayed for rain, there would surely be blessings, and it was very effective. Therefore, this canyon was named “Longtan Grand Canyon”.
The total length of Longtan Grand Canyon is 54.5 kilometers, with a depth of 648 meters, a widest point of 210 meters, an altitude of 760 meters, and a highest peak of 860 meters. There are many scenic spots for viewing in the canyon, such as the unfathomable Longtan Pool, the deafening Longtan Waterfall and Golden Gourd Waterfall, the mysterious Bat Cave, Dragon Bone Cave, Toad Peak, Divine Turtle Rock, Heavenly Dog Rock, Maitreya Buddha, Lying Tiger Mountain, Lover’s Peak, and Worry-free Peak.
What makes Longtan Grand Canyon even more spectacular is the ice waterfalls in winter. In winter, Longtan Grand Canyon is covered by a world of silver. Numerous ice waterfalls can be seen everywhere, taking on various forms. The widest part of the ice waterfall reaches more than 30 meters, and the highest part reaches 36 meters. In its branch canyon – Stone Forest Canyon, the stone forest winds continuously, the stone caves are connected end to end, and the Phoenix Stone is vivid, showing the great workmanship of nature.
In spring, Longtan Grand Canyon is filled with azaleas, colorful and charming.
Opening hours: Open from 07:30 to 15:00 throughout the year.

Children: Free for those between 1.1 meters (inclusive) and 1.3 meters (inclusive).
Seniors: Free for those 70 years old (inclusive) and above; Half price for those between 60 years old (inclusive) and 69 years old (inclusive) with valid certificates.
Military personnel and disabled people: Free with their own valid certificates.
Students: Half price for full-time primary, middle and high school students (excluding adult education postgraduate students).
