Wanghai Temple is located in Longgang District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, situated on the southern part of the Huludao Peninsula with mountains on both the east and west sides and a direct view of the Bohai Sea to the south.
Originally constructed during the Ming Dynasty, the temple was renovated during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and fell into disrepair over time. It was restored by the Xingcheng government in 1992.

The current Wanghai Temple complex spans 80 meters in width and 120 meters in length. The temple includes a mountain gate, Longtu Hall, Tianwang Hall, Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Yuquan Hall, Buddha Hall, Nianfo Hall, a dining hall, three incense burners, and a treasure tripod. There are four resident monks.

Nestled amidst the mountains and forests with a backdrop of lush greenery and facing a reservoir, Wanghai Temple offers a picturesque scene especially during the spring and summer seasons when the mountains are adorned with blooming flowers and the pine and cypress trees are a vibrant green.

On the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, many devotees visit to burn incense and worship Buddha. The temple is open all year round from 08:00 to 15:00.
