Shaguotun Jin Dynasty Stone Pagoda in Huludao

The Shaguotun Jin Dynasty Stone Pagoda is located on the top of Shilong Mountain in Shaguotun Village, Shaguotun Township, Nanpiao District, Huludao. It was built in the sixth year of Taihe in the Jin Dynasty (1206 AD).
The pagoda is a six – sided, five – level stone structure, 4.69 meters high. It is carved and built with 10 pieces of stone materials and placed on a huge sedimentary rock, on which are inscribed the words “July of the sixth year of Taihe”.


The base of the pagoda is in the Xumizuo style. Each side of the waist part is carved with a door, and inside each door is carved a beast, with different expressions.


Below the pagoda body is carved a lotus seat. In the middle of each side is a pointed – arch niche, and a sitting Buddha is placed on the lotus. Above the niche are carved patterns and decorated with a precious canopy. Round attached columns are carved at each corner.


Above the pagoda body, 5 pieces of stone are carved into the eaves of the pagoda. The upper part is a hexagonal pointed roof, and a precious – bead pagoda finial is carved.
