Hugu Gorge Scenic and Tourist Area is located at the junction of Yahe Township and Xiangyang Township, southeast of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County. It is in Heping Village, Micanggou, Yahe Township, 26 kilometers away from the county seat. Its original names were Laohudonggou and Laohushao, and now it is called Hugu Gorge. Laohushao was known as one of the top ten scenic spots in Huanren at that time.
The Hugu Gorge Scenic and Tourist Area is composed of mountains, waters, islands, lakes and historical sites. The mountains are the mountains of the Laoling branch of the Yumai of Changbai Mountain. The waters are the Hunjiang River, a tributary of the Yalu River. The island is (Wohu Island). The lake is Huilong Lake. The historical site is the General’s Tomb. The entire area covers dozens of square kilometers.
