Lily Tower in Shenyang – A Spectacular Attraction

The Lily Tower is one of the four major theme buildings in the Shenyang World Horticultural Exposition. Standing at a height of 125 meters, it is the world’s largest sculptural building. Its shape resembles a blooming lily, symbolizing the prosperous development of all industries in Shenyang and harmonious progress. It is the highest point in the entire park.
There are two viewing platforms at 95 meters and 100 meters. From these platforms, visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the entire park. From the ground to a height of 70 meters, the Lily Tower is a regular elliptical cylinder. Between 70 meters and 120 meters at the top, the steel structure is gradually “cantilevered”. Each section extends outward. Two-story sightseeing platforms are built at 95 meters and 100 meters respectively.

To overlook the scenery from the tower, visitors need to enter the tower from the two-story basement and take a high-speed elevator that runs at a speed of 2.5 meters per second to reach the top. To facilitate disabled people to reach the high-speed elevator entrance, the Lily Tower is specially equipped with an elevator with a lifting range of just over 5 meters for the exclusive use of the disabled. In addition, visitors can also walk up to the sightseeing platforms of the Lily Tower via the walking stairs.
