Leiyin Temple in Emei Mountain, Sichuan

Leiyin Temple is approximately 1 kilometer away from Fuhu Temple. Hidden in the lush jungle, the temple is not large and resembles a delicate quadrangle courtyard. The surrounding area of the temple is filled with greenery. There are very few tourists here, making it particularly serene. Only the low chanting of Buddhist scriptures by the nuns can be heard in the temple. It is an excellent place for spiritual cultivation.
Inside the Daxiong Baodian (Main Hall) of the temple, there is a white jade Buddha statue donated by overseas Chinese from Myanmar. On both sides of the Buddha statue, there is a Bodhisattva statue each, and there are also colorful sculptures of the Eighteen Arhats, which are vivid in image.

The horizontal plaque of the temple gate with the three characters “Leiyin Temple” was inscribed by Zhao Puchu, the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the president of the Buddhist Association of China.
