Pi County Ancient City Ruins – A Well-Preserved Prehistoric Site in Chengdu Plain

Pi County Ancient City Ruins, located in Pi County Ancient City Town, is one of the well-preserved prehistoric city sites on the Chengdu Plain. The site measures approximately 650 meters in length and 500 meters in width, covering a total area of 320,000 square meters. It dates back to the late Neolithic period, around 4,000 years ago.
In 1996, the ancient city ruins, along with other prehistoric city sites on the Chengdu Plain, were recognized as one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China.


During the large-scale archaeological excavation in 1997, significant ceremonial architectural remains from the same period were discovered, which were reported by dozens of domestic and international news agencies. This discovery garnered considerable attention from the fields of cultural relics archaeology and historical studies.


The site is open to the public all year round from 08:00 to 22:00.
