Jiuzhuhai, located within the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area in Zhangzha Town, Jiuzhaigou County, sits at an elevation of over 2,600 meters and is a lake approximately six meters deep. The lake’s surface is vast and elongated, with lush and towering arrow bamboos surrounding the lake, their shadows dancing and bringing vitality to the area.
A unique spectacle in Jiuzhuhai is the presence of calcified deadwood in the lake water, sometimes partially exposed above the water’s surface, with new saplings taking root on them, a phenomenon known as decaying wood renewal or deadwood springing to life.
