Upon seeing the ‘Famous Mountains of the World’ archway, it signifies that you are about to enter the Emei Mountain Scenic Area, as this archway serves as the entrance to the mountain. The inscription ‘Buddhist Holy Land’ on the back of the archway is a calligraphy by Zhao Puchu, the former president of the Chinese Buddhist Association. The area is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
