Jinghai: The Mirror of Jiuzhaigou

Jinghai, named for its tranquil surface that mirrors the surroundings, is an excellent spot for admiring reflections in Jiuzhaigou. Every morning when the first light emerges or as the sky is painted with the colors of dawn, the blue sky, white clouds, distant mountains, and nearby trees are all captured in the water. The best times to photograph the reflections of Jinghai are before 9 AM and after 5 PM when there is no wind.
Jinghai is situated downstream of Konggu and is elongated, stretching about one kilometer and surrounded by woods. Opposite the shore, the mountain wall resembles a colossal stone screen. To the right is the downstream of Jinghai, adjacent to the Nuorilang Lakes; to the left is the upstream, connecting with the Jinghai Valley. On windless sunny days, the water’s surface is as smooth as a mirror, with the scenery accurately reflected in the water.

In Jinghai, there are numerous fallen trees, 20-30 meters long, partially submerged and floating in the water. Among them, two giant trees have their tops half-exposed, and surprisingly, shrubs and ferns have grown on them, standing elegantly in the center of the lake like bonsai.

The opening hours for Jinghai are all year round, with full-day access.
