Chengdu Huaizhou Flight Base, namely Chengdu Huaizhou Airport, is located in Majialin Village, Baiguo Sub-district, Jintang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China (within the construction scope of Huaizhou New City). It is a Class A general airport approved by the military and civil aviation authorities in Chengdu and open to the public.
In April 2021, the civil aviation project of Jintang General Airport passed the acceptance inspection. On May 25, it was issued a general airport use permit and named “Chengdu Huaizhou Airport”. It was officially opened to navigation on June 11.
The main runway is 1,200 meters long and 30 meters wide (there is also a low-altitude tourism runway of 800 meters × 25 meters), with an asphalt pavement. The flight rule is VFR (Visual Flight Rules).
The area of the air traffic control comprehensive building is 2,000 square meters. The civil apron has 20 aircraft positions (data as of June 2021, which may change), including Class A and Class B aircraft positions, as well as helicopter positions.
It is equipped with relevant facilities such as air traffic control, navigation aids lighting, fire rescue, etc., and projects such as general aviation operation bases, Youth International Communities, and aviation emergency rescue bases, which can comprehensively meet the functional requirements of various carriers such as personnel offices, aircraft parking, operation training, and living facilities.
The base has the low-altitude airspace resources in Chengdu and its surrounding areas. There are already 7 outbound flight routes, with a practical airspace area of 1,652 square kilometers. In addition, 17 special airspaces for unmanned aerial vehicles have been specifically demarcated to realize the co-field flight of manned and unmanned aircraft.
As an important general airport and low-altitude economic development platform in Chengdu, Chengdu Huaizhou Flight Base is constantly promoting the innovation and development of the low-altitude economy with its unique geographical location, rich airspace resources, and complete hardware facilities.
