Za’gyain Zaga Sacred Mountain, standing at an altitude of 4400 meters, towers at the end of the Zaru Horse Path. It is said that this sacred mountain is the lord of all mountains, and the circumambulation and worship on the 15th day of each lunar month, as well as the Mazhi Festival on March 15th, are all held here. Devotees gather in groups, some on horseback and some on foot, moving counterclockwise around the sacred mountain to pray for blessings from the deities.
Near Za’gyain Zaga Sacred Mountain, there are many scenic spots. Close by are the Zaru Waterfall and the Red Pond. The Zaru Waterfall is located in the dense forest on the mountainside of the sacred mountain. The waterfall emerges from the forest, plunges off a cliff, and is intercepted by four steps, forming a four-tiered waterfall. The Tibetan people in Jiuzhaigou regard it as sacred water.
