Fenghuangshan Sports Park, located in Jinniu District, Chengdu, was completed in March 2021. It is a key project in Chengdu’s ’14th Five-Year Plan’ for building a world-class sports event city and one of the core venues for the 31st Summer Universiade. It also serves as the home stadium for the Chengdu Rongcheng team in the Chinese Super League. The project covers an area of approximately 600 acres and is constructed with high-level craftsmanship and facilities, mainly consisting of ‘one stadium, two arenas, and one center’. These include an F-I-F-A standard professional football field, a FIBA/NBA/NHL standard multi-purpose arena, a multi-functional hall, and a comprehensive fitness center.
The project is equipped with professional function rooms such as players’ lounges, dressing rooms, and press conference halls, as well as distinctive guest areas like VIP boxes. It also boasts supporting facilities such as squares, commercial spaces, hotels, and residences, providing citizens with one-stop services. The multi-purpose arena serves as the final venue for the basketball event of the 31st Summer Universiade, built according to FIBA, NBA, and NHL standards, with a construction area of about 143,000 square meters and a total seating capacity of 18,000.
