Mingyue Village: The Last Living Qiong Kiln in China

Mingyue Village, a small village located in Ganxi Town, Pujiang County, is home to China’s only ‘living’ Qiong kiln. According to reports, ceramic experts from the ‘National Palace Museum’ in Taiwan were invited to inspect the Mingyue Kiln and concluded that this ancient kiln, which has been continuously firing ceramics, is a typical Qiong kiln that retains the authentic Tang Dynasty techniques. Artists and collectors from all over the country have gradually been drawn to this remote location, where they have handcrafted ceramic exhibition halls and tea spaces among the pine forests using wood. Subsequently, writers, designers, and painters have also been flocking here, gradually establishing studios with distinctive characteristics.
