Yang Shan’an’s Temple and Gui Lake – A Historical Garden in Chengdu

Yang Shan’an’s Temple and Gui Lake are located in the Xindu District of Chengdu, Sichuan. Originally constructed during the early Tang Dynasty, the complex covers an area of approximately 48,000 square meters.
Characterized by its concise structure and delicate design, the garden is centered around a lake, with a significant presence of osmanthus and lotus flowers. Pavilions, towers, and buildings are subtly nestled among the seasonal flora.

Presently, Gui Lake Garden has fully preserved the typical garden layout of the Qin and Han dynasties, known as ‘one pond with three islands,’ which holds significant importance for the study of Chinese garden history.
