Wuhua Sea in Jiuzhaigou

Wuhua Sea is located in the middle section of Rize Valley, one of the three valleys in Jiuzhaigou, and upstream of Peacock River. Due to the travertine deposits on the seabed, various brightly colored algae, and the reflections of colorful forests on the shore, Wuhua Sea presents various colors such as light yellow, dark blue, dark green, and sapphire blue, hence the name “Wuhua Sea”. You can take the scenic area’s environmental protection bus directly to Wuhua Sea.
Walking slowly along the plank road by the lake, a section of the plank road on the west side of Wuhua Sea is one of the best viewing points. The calm lake reflects the colorful forests, blue sky, and white clouds, which is extremely beautiful.

Continuing forward, you will soon reach the end of the plank road. This is the junction of the outlet of Wuhua Sea and Peacock River. Walking about 100 meters north along Peacock River, you will reach the mountain-ringing road. Looking down at Wuhua Sea from the road has a unique charm.

Walking southeast along the mountain-ringing road for a while, you will see a huge rock. This is Tiger’s Mouth, and the rock is called “Tiger Rock”. Standing on Tiger Rock, you can have a panoramic view of the entire Wuhua Sea, which is the best position to take panoramic photos.
