Tianyi Xian (A Narrow Strip of Sky) is located on the way from Qingyin Pavilion to Hongchunping. After entering the canyon, walk along the zigzagging plank road in the canyon. The rumbling of waterfalls is in your ears, and on both sides are steep cliffs, as if a giant ax had split the mountain. Looking up, you can see a narrow strip of blue sky, no more than 3 – 5 meters wide. There are still countless holes on the cliffs on both sides of Tianyi Xian.
It is said that they were left by the monks who built the plank road in the early years. In the past, the plank road was dangerous, narrow and simple. Tourists often slipped and fell. Now it has been rebuilt into a reinforced concrete plank road. Walk a short distance forward after passing Tianyi Xian, and you can reach the Monkey Area. It is open from 07:00 – 18:30 throughout the year.
