Gaiwan’er Liyuan Teahouse – A Place to Experience Sichuan Opera and Culture

Gaiwan’er Liyuan Teahouse (a Sichuan opera face-changing performance theater) is located in Tianfu Square, Chengdu. Here, you can enjoy famous scenes of Sichuan opera and watch world-renowned Sichuan opera specialties such as “face-changing”, fire-spitting, rolling lamp, water sleeves, acrobatics, kung fu tea art, hand shadow and other performances. You can also taste the Sichuan-style covered-bowl tea and savor the essence of Sichuan opera and culture. Drink tea, watch the show and have a chat. Gaiwan’er Liyuan Teahouse is a great place to retain the memories of old Chengdu, a great place to taste the happy life, a great place filled with the atmosphere of traditional culture, and a great place that makes people feel “very Chinese”.
Opening hours: It is open from 10:00 – 21:30 throughout the year.

Preferential policies:


Children: Free for those under 1.2 meters (excluding) in height (not occupying a seat) (One adult is limited to bringing one free child. Please purchase a child ticket if occupying a seat).


Students: Please purchase child tickets on-site for those between 1.2 meters (including) and 1.4 meters (excluding).


Supplementary notes for preferential tickets: Please purchase full tickets for those 1.4 meters (including) and above. Child tickets do not include tea, tea snacks and opera costumes.
