Longquan Lake: A Scenic Paradise in Sichuan

Longquan Lake, originally known as Jianyang Shipan Reservoir, was constructed by the people of Jianyang in 1979 as a medium-sized storage reservoir. It is located 38 kilometers north of Chengdu city center, 17 kilometers south of Jiancheng, and 28 kilometers west of Sancha Lake, adjacent to the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway.
The lake has a unique shape resembling a dragon, covering an area of 5.5 square kilometers with 54 kilometers of lake shoreline. It features 14 islands of various shapes and sizes, as well as a ‘ten-mile-long gorge’ at the lake’s tail, creating a picturesque scene of mountains and waters, akin to a ‘fairy pool’ on earth. The scenic area, themed around peach blossoms, integrates mountains, water, and vegetation into a pleasant natural landscape.

Known as ‘Little Peach Source’ and ‘Sichuan’s Unique Scenery’, the area is renowned for its stunning scenery, including the delicate charm of Peach Blossom Stream, the tranquility of Chang’e Island, the exquisiteness of Peach Blossom Island, and the elegant fragrance of Orchid Island, which leave visitors in awe. In 2000, the provincial government designated it as a provincial nature reserve.

The area is open all year round from 8:00 to 18:00, with specific times subject to the actual situation on the day.
