Jiguan Mountain National Forest Park is located in Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province, encompassing the Anzi River Giant Panda Nature Reserve. The scenic area features high-altitude snow meadows accessible to tourists in the Panzhou scenic area (elevation 3868 meters, meadow area of 4800 acres, with a slope of about 7%) and Quaternary glacial relics. It boasts the largest scale, the greatest number, and the most spectacular waterfall groups and rafting sections in the Longmen Mountain range.
Additionally, it has a large area, a variety of species, and a concentrated distribution of maple, osmanthus, and peony forests in the Western Sichuan tourism circuit scenic area. With its rich animal landscapes and high mountain meteorological landscapes, it forms a showcase of the panda’s living environment. What’s more unique is that Anzi River Nature Reserve is one of the 14 giant panda reserves in China with a larger number of giant pandas and is closer to a metropolis (92 kilometers away from Chengdu). It is a key corridor for the reproduction of the Wolong and Fengtongzhai giant panda populations, a wild release park for the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, and the essence of ‘The Hometown of Giant Pandas in China’. The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific business status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
