The Jintang Yunding Mountain Scenic Area encompasses the Big and Small Yunding Mountains, the Jintang section of the Tuo River known as the Xiao Sanxia, the Sanxue Temple, and the Paotai Mountain. The Ciming Temple, located on the mountain, was originally built during the Southern Dynasty, and the existing structures are reconstructions from the Qing Dynasty. Compared to some famous mountains, this place is remarkably serene.
Big Yunding Mountain, also known as ‘Shicheng Mountain’, was one of the eight major mountain city defense systems at the end of the Song Dynasty and is a well-known anti-Yuan castle site. The mountain features beautiful scenes such as ‘Yunding Sunrise’ and ‘Mist Mountain Cloud Sea’, as well as cliff carvings and statues from the Tang Dynasty.
