Introduction to Longfeng Temple in Jingang Mountain

Longfeng Temple in Jingang Mountain is located in Xiadahe Township, Liaoyang County, about 35 kilometers away from the urban area of Liaoyang. It was first built during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,300 years. Despite going through numerous vicissitudes and experiencing repeated rises and falls, it has gained a far-reaching reputation across five dynasties.
Longfeng Temple has witnessed the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, spanning more than 1,300 years. Emperors have set foot here, and common people often visited. It received imperial conferments twice and became widely known. However, during the Cultural Revolution, Longfeng Temple was completely destroyed.


In the autumn of 1995, with the approval of relevant provincial departments, Longfeng Temple was restored and rebuilt. In May 1998, it reopened as an official religious site. As of today, eight years have passed. The total investment in the temple construction has reached 50 million yuan. The main hall, Yuantong Baodian, Baiyun Cave, the east and west side halls, the dining hall, the monks’ quarters have been repaired. The mountain access road, the Fairy Bridge have been paved, and the mountain gate and Tianwang Hall have been built.
